Gowanus Wunderkammer People's Archive Program

Starting in February we will have monthly open archiving hours where you can bring in your Gowanus artifacts and we will catalogue them and put them on display for the month and add them to our public online archive.

Everybody is invited to bring their finds from the Gowanus area to the shop. The objects will be properly documented and displayed in the shop's Wunderkammer for the month and added to our online archive.

Our inaugural Archiving Gowanus Day is Saturday, February 17, 10 am to 6 pm during regular shop hours. No reservations needed.

The Gowanus Wunderkammer People's Archive Program is an extension of the Hall of Gowanus started by Proteus Gowanus, which is now supervised by the Gowanus Canal Conservancy. We have been displaying items for that collection since we opened Gowanus Souvenir Shop over two years ago. The shop has been a place for people to come and share their Gowanus stories and Gowanus finds and the archive program gives everybody a chance to share those finds with the public.
